CRAWLEY TOWN CENTRE BID DIRECTORS

Paul Rolfe MBA BSc (Hons)

Chichester College Group, College Road

Paul is the Chairman of the Crawley Town Centre BID. His day-to-day role is Associate Principal, Employers & Stakeholders at the Chichester College Group. Paul chairs the Board of Chichester Chamber of Commerce & Industry. Nationally, Paul sits on a Government's Green Jobs Advisory Board as well as chairing a Further Education Marketing network. He holds a Masters in Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Portsmouth and a Batchelors degree in Computing & Infomatics from the University of Plymouth. He has over 20 years' experience in strategic business experience in a number of fields including information technology, marketing, business development as well as training and development.  In his spare time, he enjoys country walks, travelling and reading.

Luke Longley, MSc MRICS,

Stiles Harold Williams, Origin One, High Street

Luke is an Associate at Stiles Harold Williams, Property Management Agency, advising clients on lease matters and business rates. He is also involved with the training of Graduates at SHW.  Luke attended school in Crawley at St Wilfrid’s Catholic School, enjoys watching F1 and going cycling and loves travelling – particularly in Canada and USA.  Luke also has as a 14 month old black Cavapoo puppy called Mabel.

Simon Cuckow

Centre Manager, County Mall Crawley, Southgate Avenue

Simon has been the centre manager at County Mall for the past 4 years supporting the retailers in County Mall to maximise sales potential, supporting local businesses and local charities within the Crawley Town Centre. As a Director of the BID, Simon now has a wider voice for the retailers of Crawley.  

Abi Bowden, MSc. MCBI

Metro Bank, Queens Square

Abi is the Local Director at Metro Bank and responsible for delivering the Metro Bank brand and business model throughout West Sussex, growing lending and deposits across the bank. Abi brings strong internal and external stakeholder management skills and a keen eye for opportunity adding both community and economic value. Abi is also a trustee for a large regional theatre and has represented the board within an Executive Committee to deliver its first strategic plan which successfully supported the continuation of local government funding at a time where funding for cultural organisations had been reduced.

Matthew Tyson FCA, CTA,

Richard Place Dobson, Station Road

Matthew is the Managing Director of Richard Place Dobson, the local Chartered Accountancy firm and on the Executive Council for Gatwick Diamond Business. Matthew is a local man, born in and having grown up in Crawley attending Hazelwick School.  A community focused local man, having supported local schools and charities, he is also a qualified cricket coach and an active sportsman having competed most recently in Triathalon and Iron Man competitionsfor charity.

Nicki Cheek, Owner

The Brewery Shades, High Street

Nicki is the Landlady and Owner of the High Street based public house, and Co-Chair of the Historic High Street Business Forum. Having been brought up in the family business of Fairfield Arabian Stud competing and performing exhibition to international level, she started to work part time at a local pub for a social life, soon she was doing holiday cover in the local area and joined Whitbread's working her way up to Pub Manager, Multi Unit Manager, Trainer and Manager Recruitment, Marketing and Events Manager, NVQ Assessor Verifier for SE and then Associate Area Manager. It was then Nicki realised her love was actually in the running of  pubs and being part of the community. 

Peter Rainier

Principal Director, DMH Stallard, High Street

Peter is Principal Director of Planning at DMH Stallard which is based within the Crawley Town Centre BID. He leads a team of planners which is highly regarded and has an enviable track record of success in delivering major development and regeneration projects both for public and private sector clients, including several recent developments within the Town Centre. He seeks to ensure that, through influencing planning policies and decisions, as well as the actions of the BID everything possible is done to make the town centre a more vibrant, welcoming place for all.

Cllr Duncan Crow

West Sussex County Council, County Hall, Chichester

Duncan was first elected as county councillor for Tilgate and Furnace Green in 2005 and then subsequently in 2009 and 2013.

​

Duncan is the Cabinet Member for Community Support, Fire and Rescue

.

Locally, he is a governor at St Andrews Primary School and represents the County Council on the Crawley Town Centre BID.

​

He also represents Furnace Green on Crawley Borough Council where he is currently Leader of the Opposition.

Cllr Atif Nawaz

 Crawley Borough Council, Town Hall, The Boulevard

Atif is employed by a nationally recognised company in the town and he also owns a successful local small business. He was elected to Crawley Borough Council in May 2021 and became a cabinet member in May this year. His portfolio - Planning and Economic Development - includes responsibility for economic development, the Council’s regeneration programmes and its planning policies and functions, fostering relationships with local stakeholders and local business forums and liaison on highways and transport issues.

Graves Jenkins

Brighton Road

Neil heads the Professional Services Team based in Crawley and his expertise covers Valuations, Landlord and Tenant matters and Litigation/Expert Witness work.

 

Neil was Chairperson and a Director of the Crawley Town Centre BID prior to the office move out of the BID area.

 

He has a passion for playing various sports albeit his golf could be better.

 

He is Brighton and Hove Albion season ticket holder.
