Have your say in the future of culture in Crawley

Crawley Borough Council is working with local organisations to undertake a culture survey which will help inform the creation of a culture strategy for Crawley, following funding from Arts Council England.

The survey stakeholders include representatives from Crawley Festival, Crawley Town Centre Business Improvement District, The Hawth and Creative Crawley.

Tom Fleming Creative Consultancy (TFCC), a leading international consultancy, has been commissioned to deliver the programme which will result in a strategy in early spring 2025 and a clear plan for cultural activity until 2030.

The stakeholders want to hear from as many people as possible about the future of culture in Crawley, from residents and visitors who attend or participate in cultural activity (or not), to artists, creative professionals, employees of cultural organisations and more. A broad range of community groups and charities, as well as Crawley College and local schools are also being asked to complete the survey.

The culture strategy will identify and describe the distinctive opportunities for culture across the borough in the next five years. It will also highlight challenges, gaps in provision and priorities for culture.

Crawley is currently a priority place for Arts Council England as the town has a lower than the national average engagement and participation in arts and culture. Arts Council England is providing support to develop the arts and culture offer in Crawley.
